What Internet Speed Do I Need?
When we have people stop in who are shopping for Internet, we often get asked “What Internet speed do I need”? Internet speeds have advanced quite a bit in the last few years and it can be a daunting task to try and figure out what Internet speed you actually need.
When deciding your Internet package you need to consider two things: First, the type of functions you perform and the number of users. If you are the only person in your house and you only surf the web and use email, then our 5Mb option would work fine for you. If you have 4 people who use the internet at once and one of them is streaming a video, you’re better off going into one of our middle tiers. The FCC has a chart that can be useful in helping you determine what you should be looking at for internet speeds.
Besides functionality, the second consideration to determine your Internet speed is to look at the overall performance you want to get out of your Internet Service. Do you want to be able to massive downloads quickly, stream movies or play video games or are you running a business out of your home? If so, you might want to consider a faster speed to ensure that you can have the best internet experience.
