Mission Monday: IPTV Service Disruption
At Pinpoint, we definitely work hard to keep outages and interruption of services to a minimum. Unfortunately, beginning Friday, March 20th, we had a significant outage on our IPTV service in Cambridge, Bartley, and Gothenburg. The fiber we use to bring in the national channels was cut near Denver by an outside vendor. The severity of the cut and the location of the fiber near a gas line meant that TV service was out in these communities starting Friday morning until Saturday.
In addition, we also have seen a few issues with certain channels freezing and/or experiencing pixilation. In order to fix these isolated issues, we performed an update to our Adtran system at midnight on Monday, March 23rd. This maintenance to our system should have only affected each customer for a mere 15 minutes at the most. All signs indicate that this patch rectified these issues, however as always, if you should experience any problems with service going forward, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We want to apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we continue to work to complete implementation of this new, state-of-the-art network.
